Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) Nigeria featured at the 2nd National Gender Conference 2026, hosted by the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion (PreCEFI) and She’s Included on August 19 and 20, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The event brought together senior leaders and executives from government, development partners, the private sector, research institutions, and civil society to discuss and chart a pathway forward on Nigeria’s key gender priorities.

IPA was represented at the conference by Victoria Kiasyo Isika, Associate Director of Policy & Gender; Henry Chukwu, Associate Director of Policy; and Samuel Nwaokomah, Senior Policy Manager. IPA shared evidence on gender-based violence (GBV) and intimate partner violence (IPV), highlighting key entry points for intervention, prevention approaches, lessons from other jurisdictions, and opportunities for Nigeria. The IPA team also facilitated a strategic Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Masterclass during the conference plenary on the topic, “Beyond Access: What Does It Really Take to Finance Women’s Businesses?” The session shared existing evidence on what works and what does not, while exploring opportunities to strengthen existing models and policies to advance women’s access to credit and capital.

IPA concluded its participation on the second day of the event by facilitating a co-creation workshop on Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TF-GBV). The workshop provided contextual background on the issue, introduced emerging measurement and research tools for tracking TF-GBV, and explored opportunities for mainstreaming and adopting these tools in Nigeria.
