Many evidence-based education innovations struggle to move from pilot to system-wide adoption. This webinar explored how mEducation has successfully demonstrated both impact and scalability. Designed to strengthen learners’ basic numeracy skills, mEducation delivers simple, targeted lessons through weekly phone calls.

The program combines the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach with one-on-one tutoring. Over eight weeks, learners receive 20-minute phone sessions tailored to their current math level, ensuring mastery before progressing to more advanced topics. Innovations for Poverty Action, in partnership with Youth Impact and the Department of Education, led the evaluation of mEducation in the Philippines. The pilot yielded promising results, including a) significant learning gains across all operations, b) equally effective across different types of teachers (government teachers and learning support aides); and c) found to be among the most cost-effective remedial and educational technology interventions globally.
