Trafficking Prevention Research Development in Thailand
Funded by HTRI and in collaboration with The Freedom Story, researchers conducted an exploratory study to develop studies, impact evaluations, or other rigorous research designs to measure the impact of The Freedom Story’s programs and further replicate their programs in new locations and new populations.
The Freedom Story has worked in Thailand for 13 years in preventing child trafficking, with projects in Chiang Rai and Nan provinces. These provinces are rural trafficking hotspots with high rates of poverty, low levels of education, and social isolation (including issues such as family breakdown, child abuse, and statelessness).
Funded by HTRI and in collaboration with The Freedom Story, researchers conducted an exploratory study to develop studies, impact evaluations, or other rigorous research designs to measure the impact of The Freedom Story’s programs and further replicate their programs in new locations and new populations. To do this, they examined their existing monitoring and evaluation system and explored partnerships with local researchers to develop their research agenda and build capacity.
