Ian Schwenke is a Senior Manager with IPA’s Right-Fit Evidence Unit, supporting funders and implementers to build evidence and learning systems. Previously, he was Director of Applied Research and Evaluation at Nuru, leading research across eight African countries on smallholder agriculture, agribusiness and cooperative performance, climate resilience, and rural livelihoods. His work spans learning agendas, MEL systems, mixed-methods and quasi-experimental evaluation, and cost-effectiveness and social return on investment. Earlier, he evaluated education programs with Rising Academy Network and served as a Peace Corps teacher in Benin. He holds an MA in Global Human Development from Georgetown University and speaks English and French.
