IPA, J-PAL, and the Environmental Law Institute, Present at Geneva Peace Week 2021
On November 3, in a session titled “Emergent Approaches to M&E for Peacebuilding”, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) Senior Policy Associate Isabela Salgado, IPA’s Peace & Recovery Senior Program Associate Daphne Schermer, Environmental Law Institute Research Associate Shehla Chowdhury and Director of Internal Programs Carl Bruch, and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Senior Program Officer Martha Mutisi presented on the importance of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) to peacebuilding interventions. Drawing from IPA and J-PAL’s work in using randomized control trial (RCT) evaluations to identify effective interventions seeking to reduce crime, violence, and conflict, this session, and associated breakout room gave an overview of how practitioners can define and measure impact in the context of peacebuilding.
