On May 13, 2022, IPA Executive Annie Duflo met with early career scholars at the African School of Economics (ASE) campus in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire to discuss their respective research projects and common goals.Dr.Bassirou Chitou, National Executive Director of ASE-Abidjan, delivered the opening remarks.Following a brief introduction by IPA Francophone West Africa Country Director, Andreas Holzinger, four students presented their research project on the use and yield of improved seeds.Additionally, several faculty members presented on their study of the impact of COVID-19 on the clothing and catering sectors in Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.

On May 9, 2022, IPA's Executive Director Annie Duflo visited Lomé, Togo, to meet with the President of Togo, Faure Gnassingbé, as well as the Minister of Digital Economy and Transformation and the Director General of the National Agency for Identification.This meeting, which focused on strengthening partnerships for the use of evidence in decision-making in West Africa, provided an opportunity to discuss IPA’s mission, engagements, challenges, and prospects in Francophone West Africa, and to sign a partnership agreement between IPA and the Government of Togo.Annie Duflo, accompanied by Andreas Holzinger (Country Director of IPA Francophone West Africa), was received in Lomé by President Gnassingbé.
