On April 25, 2017, IPA Myanmar Senior Research Associate Areum Han presented at a masterclass on agribusiness research.The masterclass was organized by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and co-facilitated by Helvetas Vietnam, and was attended by Burmese professionals in the agribusiness sector.Ms.Han presented a brief introduction of RCTs and impact evaluation, and provided an overview of IPA’s multiple projects on Women’s Economic Empowerment through Financial Inclusion.

From April 10-14, 2017, IPA Uganda participated in CARE’s Women Digital Sub-Wallets workshop.The e-wallet is a new service provided by PostBank, a well-known bank in Uganda which has previously been a branch bank.The e-wallet service allows women to access formal bank accounts through mobile technology and have pre-labeled digital subwallets to categorize their savings, such as school fees and healthcare. The four-day workshop aimed to share and review findings from the pilot study and forge a way forward to a scale-up of the project.
