On May 27 – 28, 2014, the Microfinance Centre hosted its 17th annual conference titled “The New World of Financial Inclusion: What Role for Microfinance?” The conference addressed the role microfinance plays in the broader movement towards improving access to finance and financial inclusion.

On May 22 – 23, 2014, the OECD, the Capital Markets Board, the Treasury, and Central Bank of Turkey held a conference on global and European trends in financial education.The event focused on new challenges, innovations, and measures of success for financial education in Europe and Turkey.Beniamino Savonitto, Associate Director for the Financial Inclusion Program, participated in a panel on the role of financial education for empowering migrant workers and their families.

Nathanael Goldberg (Senior Policy Director, IPA) presented the findings from evaluations of IPA's Targeting the Ultra Poor projects in Ethiopia, Ghana, Honduras, India, Pakistan, and Peru at the Graduation and Social Protection Conference in Kigali, Rwanda on May 8.
