The rapid adoption of mobile phones in developing countries has created new opportunities for disseminating information to large populations at a low cost. IPA has been involved in projects that use mobile technology to support health services and health education, including testing whether providing sexual health information through SMS messaging could lower rates of risky behavior in Uganda, and sending text message reminders for malaria treatment in Ghana.
