Finalmente, se abrirá un espacio de preguntas y comentarios en el que la audiencia podrá debatir con los ponentes las temáticas tratadas durante la jornada.
IPA, J-PAL y CIRD esperan que esta iniciativa contribuya a los esfuerzos para promover el uso de la evidencia en el sector público, privado y sociedad civil paraguaya, a fin de mejorar la eficacia y la eficiencia de los programas sociales en beneficio de las poblaciones más pobres.
Seminar: “Evidence-based approach to public policy”

IPA and J-PAL, in collaboration with Centro de Información y Recursos Para el Desarrollo (CIRD), will be holding a Seminar on November 27th in Asunción, titled: “An Evidence-based approach to public policy”.
The first presentation will focus on the importance of generating and using rigorous evidence in public policy. The relevance of causal evidence to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public policies will be discussed, as well as the role randomized impact evaluations, the most rigorous methodology to generate evidence on the impact of social programs, can play in this process. Likewise, the main constraints to generating evidence in public policy will be outlined, along with strategies and opportunities to overcome these limitations.
Secondly, results of three experiences where the generation of evidence through randomized impact evaluations, relevant to Paraguay context, are aiding better decision making will be presented, including:
