Sabrin Beg is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware. She is a development economist specializing in the economics of human capital and in political economy. She focuses on vulnerable populations in the developing world, including students and farmers. Her work includes randomized controlled trials in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Ghana. Her research also uses rich administrative data to understand behavior of politicians in developing countries and the subsequent effect on economic outcomes. Sabrin received her PhD and MA in Economics from Yale University and her BA in Economics and Mathematics from Wellesley College. Prior to becoming an economist, Sabrin worked in investment banking.
