Orazio is the Cowles Professor of Economics at Yale University and founder and director of the Measurement Tools Design Lab (MeToD). His research focuses on human capital accumulation, early childhood development, household finance, and consumption behavior in low- and middle-income countries, and more recently on the design, validation and use of new measures in economics. He has led large-scale randomized evaluations of parenting interventions, conditional cash transfer programs, and early childhood education initiatives across Colombia, India, Ghana, and other countries. His work has been published in leading journals including the American Economic Review, Econometrica, the Journal of Political Economy, and the Review of Economic Studies. Attanasio is an elected fellow of the Econometric Society, the British Academy, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and served as President of both the Econometric Society and the European Economic Association. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics.
