Dr. Nasiruddin Ahmed is working as a Senior Fellow of Practice at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), BRAC University.
He was the Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Bangladesh. Prior to joining the ACC, he was the Secretary, Internal Resources Division, Ministry of Finance and Chairman of the National Board of Revenue. He also worked for the Government in Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Rural Electrification Board, Economic Relations Division, Prime Minister’s Office and Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre. He has consultancy experiences in a number of places such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, World Health Organization, UNICEF, UNESCO and AME Mineral Economics, Sydney, Australia. He taught a course in Economics and Politics in South Asia at the University of Sydney, Australia. He also taught Economics at Jahangirnagar University. Currently, he is engaged in teaching Economics in Masters in Governance and Development Program of BIGD, and MBA Program at East West University.
Dr. Ahmed holds PhD in Economics from the University of Sydney, Australia and Masters in Public Sector Management Training and Development Economics from the American University, Washington, D.C., USA. He has authored a number of papers in Economics published in international journals like Applied Economics, Applied Economics Letters, Public Administration and Development and Indian Economic Review.
