Professor Lagarde's work lies at the intersection of health economics, development economics, and behavioural economics. Her research focuses on understanding why health care providers and patients make the decisions they do, and on the design of incentives, information, and prices that can improve those decisions, in contexts such as clinical quality in primary care, antibiotic prescribing, and the take-up of preventive and curative services in low- and middle-income countries.
