Moritz Poll is an applied microeconomist with an interest in development economics. He uses randomized control trials and quasi-experimental methods to answer questions relating to poverty alleviation, structural transformation, health, and early childhood development. He is currently a post-doctoral fellow at University of Chicago's Development Innovation Lab and will join Rice University as an Assistant Professor of Economics in 2027.
