Gabriel Lara Ibarra is an Economist in the Poverty and Equity Global Practice. He is working on poverty issues and measurement currently focusing on Egypt, Tunisia, and Djibouti and is collaborating to the data management program in Middle East and North Africa region. Previously, Gabriel worked as a consultant in the Global Engagement office applying the inequality of opportunity methodology in Philippines, Russia, Morocco, among others. His research interests include the welfare and distributional impacts of public policies, analysis and measurement of inequality, and households saving and financial behavior. Mr. Lara Ibarra holds a PhD degree in Economics from the University of Maryland.
