Fatima Zahra is committed to devising public policies to enhance employment and education opportunities for women, refugees, and other marginalized groups in South Asia. Currently, Fatima is working with the local community at the Rohingya refugee camps to improve mental and fiscal wellbeing of refugees. In collaboration with local and international NGOs, Fatima is also working on designing interventions to enhance education and health outcomes of women and children, leveraging mobile technologies in these camps in Bangladesh.
Zahra’s recent article, “Closing the Education Gap: Time to Step Up for Refugee Children,” co-authored with Nancy Hornberger, Professor Emerita at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, was published on the Child & Family Blog in February 2021.
