Erin Troland completed her Ph.D. in economics at the University of California, San Diego in 2015. She is an economist at the US Treasury Department Office of Economic Policy. Her research examines public finance issues such as taxation and state capacity in developing countries, including conflict states. She has interned at the US Treasury Department's Office of Economic Policy and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. She received her B.A. with honors in economics and French from the University of Kentucky.
