Donald P. Green is the J.W. Burgess Professor of Political Science at Columbia University. He joined Columbia in 2011 after 22 years at Yale University, where he held the A. Whitney Griswold Chair in Political Science. He is the author of five books and more than 200 essays. His research covers voting behavior, partisanship, media effects, and research methods. Much of his current work uses field experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of narrative entertainment in countries including Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Egypt.

Green was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2003 and received the Heinz I. Eulau Award for the best article published in the American Political Science Review in 2009. In 2010, he helped establish the Experimental Research section of the American Political Science Association and served as its first president. He is the author of two textbooks on social science experiments: Field Experiments: Design, Analysis, and Interpretation, co-authored with Alan S. Gerber, and Social Science Experiments: A Hands-on Introduction.
