Arthur Laroche is a PhD candidate in Economics at University College London, where he is supervised by Imran Rasul and Jonas Hjort. His research uses field evaluations and causal inference to examine how institutions shape economic behavior in low- and middle-income countries. His research focuses on public finance, digitization, and land tenure, with work in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, as well as the political economy of natural resources and conflict.

Arthur trained as an engineer at École des Ponts ParisTech and holds an MSc from the Paris School of Economics.
