Annet Adong is currently at the Center for Population and Applied Statistics, Makerere University, and a part-time lecturer of Agricultural Economics at Kyambogo University. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural/Development Economics from the University of Bonn and a Master's in Development Economics from the University of Life Sciences, Norway. Annet specializes in research on agriculture, conflicts, and forced displacements. She has explored the consequences of armed conflicts and forced displacements on consumption pathways and social preferences, and published this work in the World Development Journal. In her other research, she explored the constraints to the adoption of inorganic fertilizer in Uganda using a randomized controlled trial (RCT) and is currently examining the extent to which contract farming can improve the resilience of forced-displaced households using an RCT. In addition, she is a local PI for a study that explores the potential of business networks to improve entrepreneurship among urban refugees and hosts. She is a member of EGAP, NIERA, and IAAE.
