As IPA’s Chief Financial and Operating Officer, Andrew leads the global team responsible for ensuring the organization’s financial strategy, sustainability, and compliance, and oversees Human Resources and Global Operations & Systems. He previously served for a decade as CFO and MD of Finance and Operations at Excel Academy Charter Schools, a high-performing nonprofit network of schools around Boston, Massachusetts, serving predominantly lower-income and immigrant families. During his tenure, the network tripled in size, built and acquired several facilities through complex debt transactions, and achieved financial sustainability. Earlier in his career, Andrew held increasingly senior positions in human capital and strategy over seven years at the D. E. Shaw Group, a rapidly growing alternative investment firm based in New York. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School, an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a BA in History from Columbia University.
