Andrew Morrison is an expert on gender issues in developing countries. He is a consultant specializing in gender-based violence and was Head of the Gender and Diversity Division at the Inter-American Development Bank. Before joining the IDB, he was Senior Economist in the Gender and Development Group at the World Bank and also served as Regional Gender Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean within the same institution. He has been an Associate Professor of Economics at Tulane University and the University of New Mexico, and is currently a distinguished visiting scholar at Carleton College. He has published books and articles on gender equality, international migration, labor markets, and violence prevention. He earned his PhD in Economics from Vanderbilt University.
