Andrew Brudevold-Newman is an Economist at the World Bank's Africa Gender Innovation Lab, where he leads large-scale studies on women's economic empowerment and provides support to project teams and policymakers to bolster the uptake of effective policies and interventions. His research examines how investments in education, skills, and physical capital shape economic opportunities for women and youth in Sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining the World Bank, he was a development economist at the American Institutes for Research. He received his PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Maryland.
