Andres Ham is an Associate Professor at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, with a joint appointment in the Department of Economics and School of Government. He received a PhD in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an MA in Economics from Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina, and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras.

His research focuses on applied microeconomics and the use of data science. He primarily collaborates with IPA on research examining how drug trafficking affects individuals and households in transit countries and the implications for policy. His research also examines how regularization programs can support the economic and social integration of displaced migrants in their host countries.
