The Microcredit Summit Campaign and the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc., together with the sponsorship of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, hosted a Microcredit Summit in Manila on October 9-11, 2013 focused on the theme Partnerships against Poverty: Government, Business, Finance and Civil Society. The summit brought together government activities, financial and social services and providers, and other businesses to help catalyze the next great wave of movement out of severe poverty. Mark Miller, Deputy Country Director of IPA Philippines, presented on behalf of IPA at a workshop titled Building Client Capacity to Make Educated Financial Decisions.
