VOTO Mobile is a Ghana-based social enterprise with staff in Ghana, Zimbabwe, Canada, and the United States. Their team was formed based on years of experience supporting district governments and donor partners in addressing challenges related to information management, communication, and accountable governance.
Active since May 2012, VOTO’s first SMS-based pilot surveys and face-to-face research quickly demonstrated the importance of local-language voice-based services in empowering under-heard voices across Ghana. In the last year, our platform has allowed journalists to run national corruption surveys, rural clinics to distribute maternal health education, policy makers to study vaccine supply chains, economic development organizations to reach out to farmers, urban planners to monitor water distribution access, and academics to research the effect of public health interventions. Having proven it's efficacy in Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda and India, the VOTO platform now works to place outgoing calls anywhere in the world.
