Nigeria Graduation Roundtable: Sharing Lessons and Charting the Way Forward

Nigeria faces persistent poverty challenges, with over 100 million people living in multidimensional poverty. The Graduation Approach—integrating social protection, livelihoods, financial inclusion, and empowerment—has demonstrated global success and is now being adapted across Nigeria.

This Roundtable, held as a hybrid in-person and virtual event, brought together government leaders, development partners, private sector, researchers, and civil society to strengthen collaboration and share lessons and practical solutions from ongoing and global Graduation programs, including a pilot in Kaduna State. Participants explored challenges and highlighted opportunities to scale Graduation sustainably—ensuring inclusion of women, youth, and vulnerable populations—and to feed recommendations into national reforms and strategies.
