On September 19 - 20, 2013, the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) at the University of California - Berkeley, hosted an event in the San Francisco Bay Area on mobile banking. The aims of the event were to inject fresh thinking into mobile banking, and to connect firms targeting low-income clients with sector leaders working in established markets. The event also introduced MNOs and banks to academic engineers and economists, to facilitate the development of new technical solutions and delivery strategies. Aishwarya Ratan, Director of the Financial Inclusion Program, participated in two panels related to client behavior and product design on behalf of IPA.
