Between March 27-31, 2017, IPA presented in multiple sessions at this year’s African Evaluation Association (AfrEA) Conference in Kampala, Uganda. The conference brought together researchers, academics, and practitioners from the African continent and beyond to discuss the supply and demand of credible evidence in support of the Sustainable Development Goals in Africa. Rebecca Rouse, Director of IPA's Financial Inclusion Program, presented evidence on women’s economic empowerment and financial inclusion. Also in the financial inclusion space, Ricardo Morel moderated a panel on evidence gaps in financial consumer protection, featuring speakers from the Bank of Uganda, FSD Uganda, Makerere University, and the Springfield Centre. Julie Peachey (Director for the Progress Out of Poverty Index [PPI]) and Dickson Malunda (Deputy Country Director for IPA Uganda) also presented at the conference.
