From July 23-24, 2026, IPA joined policymakers, researchers, and development practitioners in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the 14th Africa Evidence Summit, which was co-hosted by the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) and the Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa (NIERA) in partnership with the Policy Studies Institute (PSI).

On July 23, IPA and the FAO Investment Centre held an event to showcase the results of IPA and FAO's evidence reviews on the drivers of underinvestment in agriculture, alongside research from J-PAL’s Agricultural Technology Adoption Initiative (ATAI), with presentations from Dean Karlan (IPA Founder & Board Member and Professor of Economics and Finance at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management) and Edward Miguel (Distinguished Professor of Economics, University of California, Berkeley), followed by a panel discussion moderated by Claudia Casarotto, IPA's Chief Global Programs Officer.

On July 24, Juan Manuel Hernández-Agramonte, IPA’s Senior Director for Embedded Labs, joined a panel of government leaders, researchers, and evidence practitioners to explore practical pathways for strengthening evidence use across African public institutions, drawing on IPA's experience supporting Embedded Evidence Labs across the continent to share how Labs integrate data and evidence directly into policy design and implementation, not as one-off research projects, but as part of everyday decision-making.
