IPA Philippines Signs Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Migrant Workers
IPA Philippines and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) formalized a landmark three-year Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) during a two-day forum titled, “Knowledge to Policy and Practice: Advancing Labor Migration Governance Through Evidence and Action,” hosted by the DMW - Institute for Advanced and Strategic Studies on Migration and Development (IASSMD) on December 11 and 12, 2025 at the DMW Makati office. This marked the official launch of a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening evidence-based policymaking for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
Through this collaboration, IPA Philippines and DMW will jointly advance rigorous research on priority labor migration issues while building institutional capacity in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and the ethical use of administrative data. As emphasized by DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, the partnership aims to support more responsive, effective, and data-driven interventions that address the realities and needs of OFWs across the migration cycle.
