The study evaluated the effectiveness of information campaigns in increasing students' and parents' understanding of the returns to education and reducing school dropout and child labor in rural and urban areas. The campaigns were delivered as telenovela-style videos and an interactive app on tablets. Oswaldo Molina, an Associate Professor at the Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, presented on the preliminary findings at the U.S. Department of Labor. Molina was one of the study's principal investigators, along with Francisco Gallego, an Associate Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and Christopher Neilson, an Associate Professor at Princeton University.
