On May 23, 2025, IPA Francophone West Africa met with Burkina Faso’s Minister of Digital Transition, Posts, and Electronic Communications, Dr. Aminata ZERBO/SABANE. The discussion focused on online gender-based violence—a growing issue that remains under-researched in African contexts. Learn more in this press release (in French) issued by the Ministry.

This meeting marked the start of a technical partnership between IPA and the Ministry to co-develop a measurement tool tailored to local realities. Reliable, context-specific data is key to better understanding, preventing, and addressing these forms of violence.
