On November 8, IPA Kenya, in collaboration with the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, held a launch event for Kenya's latest Poverty Probability Index (PPI®), an easy-to-use poverty measurement tool.PPIs are created by a statistical learning model that selects 10 questions from a country's own national survey data, which most strongly predict poverty in the country. Answers to these 10 questions are converted to individual household poverty likelihoods and group poverty rates.

On November 6, IPA and the CGIAR research program on Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security joined forces to bring together researchers, donors, and practitioners in a half-day research development workshop at the International Microinsurance Conference in Lusaka, Zambia.

On November 3, Poverty Probability Index (PPI®) Director, Julie Peachey, presented at the annual American Evaluation Association (AEA) Conference in Cleveland, Ohio. She shared relevant examples of how the PPI has been used to help organizations understand the poverty profile of their customers, conduct a variety of analyses by poverty level, and use that data to inform decisions at the investee and investor level.
