Past Events Jul 19 Impact Evaluation Capacity Building Conference Rachel Steinacher (IPA-Tanzania), Isaac Mbiti (University of Virginia; J-PAL affiliate) and Karthik Muralidharan (UCSD; CEGA, IPA, and J-PAL affiliate) presented at a seminar to promote impact evaluation in Tanzania hosted by Twaweza and the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH).The audience consisted mostly of young, Tanzanian researchers.Isaac and Karthik presented on their education research in Kenya and India and the progress of the ongoing KiuFunza evaluation in Tanzania. Jul 14 Promoting the Use and Production of Evidence for Peru's Ministry of Education The Department of Research and Documentation (DIDE) in Peru’s Ministry of Education, IPA Peru, and J-PAL LAC launched a collaboration to promote the use and production of evidence within the Ministry.As part of this cooperation, the three organizations are launching a series of evidence workshops to share results on evaluations of education programs in the region.The first of these workshops presented the results of an early numeracy program in Paraguay.IPA Peru and J-PAL LAC will also offer an introductory training on impact evaluation for DIDE staff.
