IPA Philippines Presents the mEducation Program Results to the Department of Education
On August 25, IPA Philippines and Youth Impact presented the results of the mEducation to the Department of Education via Zoom conference meeting. The mEducation program is a phone-based math learning intervention for students in Grades 3-4 that delivers instruction to support student education that is foundational--addressing fundamental math skills, targeted to individual student needs, and simple to help families build confidence in practicing math together with their children. Noam Angrist (Executive Director and Co-Founder, Youth Impact) and Nassreena Sampaco-Baddiri (Country Director, IPA Philippines) led the presentation of the study and results. In attendance from DepEd were Undersecretary and Chief of Staff of the Secretary Atty. Nepomuceno Malaluan, Undersecretary for Curriculum and Instruction (CI) Diosdado San Antonio, and DepEd Bureau Directors and staff. Evidence from the mEducation study aims to inform DepEd policies in supporting the learning recovery of students through targeted instruction and improving parent-student engagement at home.
