Dissemination Workshop: Livelihoods and Inclusion for Transformation in Northern Kenya

Dissemination Workshop: Livelihoods and Inclusion for Transformation in Northern Kenya

On August 4, 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya, IPA, in collaboration with The BOMA Project and the IKEA Foundation, will bring together policymakers, researchers, development partners, and practitioners to discuss new evidence from a randomized evaluation of two livelihood approaches: one focused on helping households increase their incomes and another that combines livelihood support with environmental stewardship. The research examines their effects on household well-being, livelihoods, environmental outcomes, and value for money.

The event will also look at how these findings can inform decisions in Kenya.

  • How can counties use this evidence in development and climate planning?
  • What would it take to expand economic inclusion programs across the country?
  • How can communities play a bigger role in shaping programs that respond to local needs?

The program will feature researchers, government officials, implementing organizations, and development partners sharing their perspectives on livelihoods, forests, and climate resilience.
