On October 7, IPA Founder and President, Dean Karlan presented the results of the study “Increasing Voluntary Retirement Contributions in Colombia” at Universidad Javeriana to a wide audience of academics from local universities, policymakers such Colpensiones and the Superintendencia Financiera, as well as the private pension funds and others. Professor Karlan then presented preliminary results from a research project in Ghana at the academic seminar at the Economics Department at the Universidad de los Andes. There he met with Olga Namen, a post-doctoral fellow at IPA Colombia and a researcher on a project in Ecuador with the Ministry of Social and Economic Inclusion, other professors at the university, and with the pensions team at Superintendencia Financiera, the financial regulator in Colombia for a potential research opportunity around financial protection.
