Gender & Consumer Protection Learning Agenda

Screenshot of front cover page of the learning agenda PDFFinancial products and services are crucial in empowering women, allowing them to control their finances and enhance their resilience. However, consumers are not homogeneous, and financial risks can vary across demographics. This highlights the need to investigate how consumer risks differ by gender and to evaluate whether risk mitigation strategies are differentially effective for women. This learning agenda examines existing evidence on consumer protection risks for women, evaluates potential solutions, and identifies critical research gaps. We found significant gaps and emphasize the need for more research on how consumer protection risks specifically affect women and how solutions can be tailored accordingly.
