A couple of weeks ago Michael Clemens (CGD) and Gabriel Demombynes (World Bank) published a paper looking at how the Millennium Villages Project is being evaluated (or not) - summarised here and here.  

After some back and forth - a live seminar was promised with Clemens, Demombynes and Jeffrey Sachs of the MVP. Which was then cancelled. 

Here at IPA we are in the business of doing RCTs, but we do also recognise that randomized evaluations are not always appropriate in every instance. We would have loved to have heard this debate, which is why we are backing Tim Ogden's petition for it to rescheduled.
