This page lists research projects that are being developed by IPA and others. Our goal is to document active studies taking place on COVID-19’s socio-economic impacts—and results, as they come in—in order to inform researchers and decision-makers working to mitigate the crisis. As this is a public good, the hub contains both IPA and non-IPA studies. Inclusion criteria for the hub can be found here, and new projects and questionnaires can be submitted here.

A Rapid Survey OF Citizens’ Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP) With Respect to COVID-19 in Uganda

<p>Twaweza is collecting data on citizens’ knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) related to COVID-19.This will be done through a series of mobile phone surveys of a representative sample of the country’s adult population.The evidence generated will a) provide baseline information on the status of citizens’ knowledge attitudes and practices (behaviors) across Uganda b) improve the understanding of citizens’ knowledge gaps on COVID-19, so as to improve public information campaigns, c) provide data useful post COVID-19 to assess the effectiveness of the public health response, and enhance global knowledge on the role of citizen data in combating infectious diseases.</p>

<p>More than 1.5 billion students have to stay at home due to COVID-19 school closures, more than 90 percent&nbsp;of total enrolled learners (UNESCO, 04.01.2020).To ensure learning continuity, students have to study at home.However, it is unclear how the students respond to this challenge and if there is a way to improve their lives.Therefore, we conducted a COVID-19 Rapid Response study among current high school students in Ecuador.</p>

Understanding the Response to and Recovery from the COVID-19 Crisis among Informal Sector Workers in Urban India

<p>In an ongoing randomized control trial, we study the impact of social networks on take-up of a job aggregator service in Delhi, India, with subsequent implications on women and their spouses’ employment outcomes, income, attitudes, and other outcomes.&nbsp;The baseline survey of approximately 1,500 participant households is complete.Our ongoing midline survey (conducted over phone) has now been expanded to also study the response and recovery to the COVID-19 crisis and the current nationwide lockdown among our study sample.</p>
