Andres is an Associate Professor at the School of Economics, Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. His research lies in the field of Development Economics and focuses on two topics: First and foremost, he is interested in the analysis of violence and forced displacement and in understanding whether they can thrust victims into poverty through economic, psychological, and behavioral channels. Second, He is also interested in the relationship between aspirations, poverty, and socioeconomic mobility.
