Alejandro Montoya Castaño is a Senior Policy Associate at IPA Colombia. Prior to joining IPA, he worked in Colombia as a junior consultant for Econometría Consultores on projects related to land restitution; as an economic advisor for the Mobility and Job Training Department of the Ministry of Labor; and as an advisor for the Colombian Tax Authority (DIAN). He also worked as an external consultant for IFAD and as lecturer and coordinator of the Master’s in Economics program at the Universidad de Antioquia. Alejandro holds a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor’s and Master’s in economics from Universidad de Antioquia and Universidad del Rosario.
