Patrick Nalere is the Country Director for IPA's Rwanda and Uganda offices. In this role, he provides overall strategic leadership, management, and coordination of the development and implementation of country office strategies and projects. He works closely with a wide range of government, academic, and research implementation partners to generate and share evidence for policy impact and decision-making across a wide diversity of sectors. With over 25 years of experience in Senior Management Positions at both national and international levels, prior to joining IPA, he worked as Executive Director at ARLAC a Research and Capacity Building Institution in Zimbabwe. He has also served as a Country Director for Heifer International in Uganda, Regional Director for the International Institute of Rural Construction in Kenya, and Regional Director for WorldFish Center in Zambia. Patrick holds a PhD from Leeds Beckett University (UK), an MBA from the internal Health Science University, a Master of Arts (Economic Policy & Planning), and a BSc (Economics) both from Makerere University (Uganda).
