Cassien Havugimana is the Country Representative for IPA Rwanda, based in Kigali. Prior to joining IPA, Cassien worked as the Regional Coordinator in Rwanda and Eastern DR Congo for the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH). As Regional Coordinator for five years, he coordinated many research projects in the health sector, and he was responsible for leading the strategic directions of the organization across the region. Cassien has also worked in Northern Nigeria as a health promotion manager for Doctors without Borders (MSF), and with civil society organizations in Rwanda to influence health policies. He holds a Master of Medical Sciences in Public Health Epidemiology from Karolinska Institutet, Sweden.
