Regional Director, Latin America
Juan Manuel Hernández-Agramonte is IPA's Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). He is also a PI in several studies in education, early childhood development, and diversity. He previously served as Deputy Regional Director for LAC and Country Director for IPA's Peru, Bolivia, and Paraguay country programs. Before working for IPA, he was a Policy Manager for J-PAL, where he developed government initiatives to incorporate evidence into policy decisions. One of the main projects he led was the creation of the Ministry of Education of Peru's Education Lab—MineduLAB—for which he was the coordinator. Before joining IPA, Juan worked for several agencies within the UN system such as UNICEF, the International Labor Organization (ILO), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). He holds an MSc in International Development Studies from the University of Amsterdam and a BA in Sociology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
