Joan Hamory Hicks completed her Ph.D. in Economics at UC Berkeley and first joined CEGA as a postdoctoral fellow in 2009. Her research focuses on health, education and transitions to adulthood among rural African youth. She has worked on the evaluation of multiple interventions in Kenya including childhood deworming, vocational training, and provision of cash grants.
