On November 21, the Ministry of Women of Peru hosted a dissemination event where Ursula Aldana (Instituto de Estudios Peruanos) presented the design of “Leaders in Action” a program that trains local leaders to become community health volunteers and raise awareness of gender-based violence (GBV) in their villages, to a policy audience at the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (MIMP). The presentation also introduced the design of a new arm of the intervention based on group treatment in community meetings to discuss topics related to GBV. This arm will include a qualitative analysis of the study. The event was attended by high-level officials from Peru’s Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, including the Minister of Women, Gloria Montenegro, the Deputy Minister of Women, Patricia Garcés, as well as by different representatives from Peru’s Ministry of Women, the British Ambassador to Peru, Kate Harrison, and the Inter-American Development Bank's (IDB) Gender and Diversity Division Chief Andrew Morrison.
