Communications Assistant

Position Summary

The Communications Assistant will contribute to the promotion and communications of Innovation for Poverty Action's (IPA) Country Office in Peru. They will participate in the coordination of events, presentations, digital content, and social media, among other tasks. The ideal candidate should be proactive, able to learn quickly, and have a strong desire to work in a dynamic, multicultural, and team-oriented environment. The Communications Assistant will closely collaborate with IPA’s Global Communications team to apply the organizational-wide guidelines in the Peru Country Office.

Responsibilities

Organize the Peru Country Office's Communication Strategy:

  • Support in adapting IPA Global’s communications protocol to the Peru office
  • Support in conceptualizing the office’s communication and outreach strategy.

Manage the Social Media Strategy:

  • Management of IPA Peru’s local social media accounts through the creation and publication of content relevant to audiences in the country and the region
  • Support in monitoring and analyzing social media performance to increase the reach and effectiveness of communication campaigns.

Event Support:

  • Support in planning, executing, and documenting events (coordination with partners, photo and video documentation).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field, with at least one year of relevant work experience
  • Genuine interest in working with nonprofit or socially driven organizations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English (advanced level)
  • Strong photography skills and familiarity with audiovisual production
  • Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and a proactive attitude
  • Basic knowledge of social media management
  • Legal authorization to work in Peru.
  • English and Spanish fluency

Preferred:

  • At least one year of experience working in a research organization.
